"Bitter are the tears of a child; sweeten them. Deep are the thoughts of a child, quiet them. Sharp is the grief of a child; take it from them. Soft is the heart of a child; do not harden it. " |
Parent CoordinationParent Coordination is a non-adversarial process, designed to reduce acrimony and to settle disputes efficiently. It is an alternative form of child-centered conflict resolution. It is a process that helps parents make decisions in the best interest of their children, including post-divorce time sharing. A Parent Coordinator is a neutral professional who is specifically trained in parent coordination, which includes mediation training, who will educate and guide parents in accordance with a Court order and/or both parents' consent. A Parent Coordinator can assist the parents in creating or in monitoring the compliance of an existing parenting plan, help resolve disputes between the parents by educating the parents about children's needs, communication skills and by making recommendations in order to protect and sustain a safe, healthy and meaningful parent-child and co-parent relationship.
